The third Jobs Fair careers event is coming to Peterborough to bring together local businesses and training providers with local job seekers. The recruitment fair, sponsored by public service provider Amey and organised by recruitment specialists, The Jobs Fair and Just Jobs Peterborough, will take place on the ground floor of The Queensgate Shopping Centre on Friday 26th April 2013 between 10am and 5:30pm. Exhibitors include Amey, Care UK, Hereward Care, Just Jobs Peterborough and Bright Assessing.
The Peterborough Jobs Fair provides employers, training providers and career development professionals the opportunity to meet all jobseekers, whether employed or unemployed, and including those just out of further education, or those seeking apprenticeships and training opportunities within local organisations.
A fun packed evening of Charity White Collar Boxing with 30 fighters from Peterborough & St Ives area competing against each other.
More than 1400 trucks of all shapes and sizes will come together once again to create the biggest Truck Festival in Europe at Peterborough Arena.
Watch our sheep get a hair cut as they go under the shears this weekend. Our expert sheep shearer will talk you through the tricks of his trade. He'll even attempt to shear all of the wool off a sheep in one go!
Our spring/summer activities will also be running throghout the weekend, including pony grooming, duck racing, lamb racing and pond dipping.
Dirty Weekend is quite simply the World's Biggest Assault Course, followed by an Epic After-Party of Festival-proportions. The run itself consists of 2 options: The Full Mucker (20miles) and Half Mucker (13 miles) option for those who want most of the obstacles but who find the full distance a little much.
Burghley Estate is home to the largest horse trials course in the World and its annual event is the showpiece of the UK’s equestrian calendar. These jumps were made for jumpin’ – and even though you won’t have a horse – we thought we’d send you over them anyway. Some of the horse trials jumps are massive; some involve water and some are just plain old horse-fences. Cue much Horseplay.
The May show at the East of England Showground in Peterborough is the season ‘opener’ and is Europe’s largest outdoor motorcycle show. The show has been running for 34 years and attracts vast numbers of visitors and exhibitors alike.
Live evening entertainment is provided for those camping on both Friday and Saturday evening, a great main arena programme is provided for all attending which always includes motorcycle related stunt shows and when possible racing of some description. Exhibitors benefit from a choice of indoor or outdoor pitches and of course the event is well publicised throughout the motorcycle consumer and trade press, as well as local area advertising.

Get stuck in over the May Bank Holiday weekend by baking your own bread. The oven in our 18th Century Grade II* listed Millhouse will be stoked up and ready to go. Follow the Little Red Hen through the Mill to discover how flour is made before having a go a making your own delicious bread roll.
All of the rolls will be baked in our oven and you will be able to eat them when they're lovely and warm. Other activities on the Farm over the weekend include pony grooming, pond dipping, lamb and duck racing.
The Burghley Game & Country Fair returns at the beginning of May for a whole host of country attractions and entertainment. The Falconry Village includes a flying arena, indoor training arena, specialised trade stands, static displays, resident falconers plus guests, clubs and everything else you would expect to find at a falconry show.
Equestrian demonstrations can be seen in the specialist arena. Other types of horse are used for competitions such as scurry racing and mounted games, which can be seen in the main arena.

Gable Events is proud to have joined with the children’s hospice service for families in Peterborough and the surrounding area, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), to bring you the 15th charity dragon boat festival to be staged on the River Nene in Peterborough.
The Festival is open to everyone and up to 52 crews are expected to battle it out over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators. The central Peterborough location offers a superb venue for racing and a fabulous day is guaranteed with plenty of bankside family entertainment including a large funfair, inflatables, children’s activities and street entertainer plus a variety of food stalls and bar.
The 2nd Annual Free Kicks Golf Day will be held at Toft Golf Club on June 28th. If you are interested, we will be looking for 26 teams of 3. There is the potential the morning will be a 4 x par 3s + 1 x par 4 - played twice (10 hole individual competition).
We will be looking to dramatically increase the number of guests we have on the day, the aim is to get a guest to play in each team.

After the huge success of the The Willow Festival in 2012, the music extravaganza will return in July 2013 with the generous support of Peterborough City Council and our sponsors. TWF will again be a free to enter family orientated festival.
The festival is not a big name event and is focused on unsigned or new acts of all genres, although it often attracts bigger name artists too. All the music at the festival is played live. No faking it, miming or boy / girl bands with backing tracks.
On Saturday the 13th July 2013 the national Beagle Association comes to Peterborough Arena for the 51st Anniversary Beagle Championship Show.
Organised by the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show Society, The Association of Masters of Harriers & Beagles and the East of England Agricultural Society – hounds from all around the country will once again compete in the annual celebration of the hunting hound and rural pursuits – the Festival of Hunting.
There will also be the exciting inter-hunt relay, with a junior and senior competition. The Festival expects to see over 1,200 hounds representing the best in modern foxhounds, harriers, beagles, bassets, mink hounds, blood hounds, drag hounds and terriers, plus displays of fell and stag hounds, coursing dogs and other country sports.

The 1940s weekend 'Life on the Holme Front' has been running since 2007 and the event gets better every year. This is a fantastic weekend for the whole family, learn what village life was like during the second world war.
The whole village gets involved and we at Holmewood Hall open our doors for the weekend providing space for displays and a wartime tea room. Holmewood Hall was used by the United States Office of Strategic Services (OSS) for packing airborne containers to be parachuted into occupied Europe.
